Corban’s Toy Drive
We’ve selected Corban’s Toy Drive to receive our proceeds as September’s Featured Restoring Organization. Curbside Overhaul’s mission is to restore purpose with paint and brush. Sometimes this paint and brush is literally in our hands, but we also want to help support other organizations restoring purpose in our state.
To do this, we decided each month we would donate 5 percent of our proceeds to a non-profit or organization working to restore their community.
In September, we decided to donate our proceeds to Corban’s Toy Drive. Our friend Elly Griffin lost her little boy in 2012. She has used this tragic event to help others. She donated his organs to give other children a second chance at life. Also, to honor him on his Birthday, each September she has Corban’s Toy Drive collecting toys, clothing and toiletries each year to donate to Circle of Care.
Circle of Care
Oklahoma United Methodist Circle of Care assists children and families in crisis through its foster care services, preparation for adult living program for teens, community outreach and the Pearl’s Hope shelter for women and children. The nonprofit organization works throughout the state and maintains several residential and community-based foster care sites.
We are blessed to be able to donate to Corban’s Toy Drive, and ultimately the Circle of Care, which reaches the children and youth who really need to experience Christ’s love, hope and mercy this season. We are coming upon the time of year when we can get caught up in material things and forget what truly matters. Donating to Circle of Care and those they serve is a wonderful way to remember Christ and how he lived and died for each one of us while bringing joy to a young person’s heart. At the same time we will be honoring Corban, who left us way to soon.
