Monday Motivation-The Only Way to Avoid Criticism…

How to Avoid Criticism

I’ll be the first to raise my hand and say I don’t like criticism, not even constructive. When I approach someone, even with a project that I know needs work, and they tear it apart it makes me deflate like a bursting balloon.

Now that’s something I KNOW I need to work on. I’ve gotten better over the years, as the people I’ve gone to really want to help me develop my best work. It’s also helped as I’ve shared the things closest to my heart, that it doesn’t receive the negative backlash that I always expect.

That being said, one thing that I knew, but still was hard to accept is that criticism is a good thing. It helps us to know that we put ourselves out there, that we were ourselves and we DID something.

Even people who don’t ever leave the house, the bed or do anything with their lives are criticized, made fun of by people, who have never met them or know anything about them. No matter what you do, you’ll be criticized, just not directly. Most of the time, the criticism stems from jealousy because they know they could never do anything like what you’re doing or misunderstanding, which has no reflection on you but the people criticizing you.

There is only one way to avoid criticism

Need some motivation on this Monday, just remember: "The only way to avoid criticism is to: say nothing, do nothing, be nothing." Aristotle

Knowing that, I think I might as well conquer those and do something meaningful to with my life. I hope you find the strength and will to do the same.

Best,

Kayla
