Thanksgiving with Replenishing Oklahoma
We’ve selected Replenishing Oklahoma to receive our proceeds as October’s Featured Restoring Organization. Curbside Overhaul’s mission is to restore purpose with paint and brush. Sometimes this paint and brush is literally in our hands, but we also want to help support other organizations restoring purpose in our state.
Since Thanksgiving is right around the corner, we wanted to support our state and celebrate Thanksgiving.
This month, Facebook group Replenishing Oklahoma is raising donations to feed low-income families for Thanksgiving. These donations will provide families with dinners complete with turkey, stuffing, yams, cranberries and other traditional Thanksgiving sides.
As a result, we decided to support Replenishing Oklahoma in their efforts.
More About Replenishing Oklahoma
This group is comprised of Oklahoma citizens interested in making Oklahoma a better and cleaner place to live. It is all about sharing ways Oklahoma can care more for the environment and it’s fellow citizens. The group encourages members to share any news articles, blog posts, promotional materials or other content that others can attend or contribute to that make Oklahoma a more aware, sustainable and better place to live.
The group started in February 2016 and they have done a variety of service projects including picking up litter, raising supplies for animal shelters, and giving away backpacks full of supplies to help the homeless make it through summer.
One of their biggest projects was an Educators Supply Drive. Replenishing Oklahoma saw the struggles of the teachers in our state and raised over $8,000 to help educators in Oklahoma City, Checotah, Muskogee, Eufaula and Webber’s Falls.
